RB & RP: “We are investigating:
Red
Silhouettes
Qualities of Paper
Shadows
Templates
Qualities of Mark”

RB:
Thinking about RED. Connotations of power; Labour and communism, red official wax seals. Correction pens. Implications of passion and sex or                                                                                            love, red roses. A ‘red letter day’.                                                                                             ‘Seeing red’.

I met Ruth with a red biro for each of us. We felt drawn to Sonia’s curls of cut, unadorned, paper. The shadows in the coffee shop were stupendous.

We are told ‘letting go’ is part of the project. Will the artists be able to comply? Can we create artwork knowing it will be altered or potentially abused?

RP:
Picked up from Ros’ parchment scrolls. I’ve pierced figurative tracings on the same medium. There is a mysterious quality to the images and the figurative image starts to break down as the viewer become closer.
